For Helga Herter, her husband Wolfgang’s professional practice as an insulation master constituted the basis
for her founding her own business for industrial heat and sound insulation. Thus, in 1980, the company HERTER
Glastuchmatten was born. Wolfgang Herter soon joined the family business. After completing his training, their son
Gunar Herter, who received his master craftsman’s diploma in 2003, joined the business.
Today, fibreglass matting is manufactured by 25 employees at the HERTER production plant in the Sören industrial
estate in Schönkirchen in Schleswig-Holstein. The range of services is rounded off with installation and measurement
of insulation on-site at the customer’s location and the manufacture of turbine insulation, insulation for biogas facilities
and insulation in the power station industry and the shipbuilding industry.
